Deputy Kills Pedestrian in Car Accident
The Orlando Sentinel reports that a deputy’s vehicle hit and killed a pedestrian on West Oak Ridge Road. According to the Florida Highway Patrol Troopers, Susan Roman, a 34-year-old mother of two, was walking along the road in the early hours of the morning when the incident took place. She was not walking inside a crosswalk at the time.
The woman’s husband claims that his wife would often walk at that time of the morning for exercise. The woman was struck head-on by the trooper’s patrol vehicle, and her body was thrown into a nearby pickup. She was transported to the Orlando Medical Center, where she later died from her injuries.
Teenage Pedestrian Killed in Accident
WCTV reports that one of the teenage pedestrians who were struck by a vehicle late on Saturday night has died. According to the article, a homicide investigator from the Florida Highway Patrol has confirmed that the 17-year-old passed away due to injuries sustained in the accident. Another teenager, who was also hit by the same vehicle, has been released from the hospital after recovering from minor injuries.
The two teenagers were struck while walking along the side of the road late at night. Investigators say that the 31-year-old driver of the vehicle was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the incident.
